BTS cancels concert in Korea due to coronavirus 2020 (Covid-19)

The South Korean band that has become a worldwide sensation announced yesterdat that they will no longer be performing shows from their “Map of the Soul” tour in Seoul. The tour, which had three shows slated at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul on April 11, 12 and 18 have been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“It is unavoidable that the concert must be canceled without further delay,” reads an announcement in Korean. “Please understand that this decision was made after extensive and careful consideration.” More than 200,000 attendees were expected at these shows.

These shows were meant to be the opening act for the band’s world tour, but their show in Santa Clara on April 25 will now be the first where they perform.

BTS is not alone in taking precaution against the virus; Green Day also said that they would postpone all their shows in Asia due to the outbreak. The band was meant to perform in Philippines, Taiwan and other cities in the coming weeks.
